HICKORY, N.C. -- Hickory police are investigating two robberies at separate cell phone stores this week.

Police said 40 cell phones valued at more than $8,000 were stolen from Bark Mobile on U.S. Highway 70 SW on Wednesday.

Officers arrived to find the back door pried open, according to police. Surveillance captured images of the two suspect with their faces concealed.

The second robbery happened on Tuesday at In Touch Smart Phones on U.S. Highway 70 SE.

The suspects threw a rock and broke the front glass door to gain entry and take away items, according to police.

Police said management is working on the inventory to give a detailed number of phones stolen.
