RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina elections officials say a programing error has resulted in incorrect data for precincts reporting being displayed on the state board's website as results are being tabulated.
State Board of Elections spokesman Joshua Lawson said Tuesday night that a programing error had caused the initial numbers for precincts reporting to be incorrectly tabulated.
In other cases, the site wouldn't load or it gave an incorrect number of precincts. At one time it showed only 12 precincts in Mecklenburg County, when the number should be 195.
Lawson said programmers are working to resolve the error. The Associated Press collects county-by-county voting data independently of the state website.
