CHARLOTTE, N.C. Detectives are on the hunt for a man who robbed a University Area Harris Teeter last week.

The incident took place at the northeast Charlotte grocery store located at 2201 West WT Harris Boulevard on Thursday.

It s unclear how much money the man stole, but Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives say he fled the store in a silver van.

The African American man was wearing a tan baseball hat and overalls.

Thursday's robbery comes while police across the state are trying to find the masked men responsible for eight Harris Teeter robberies earlier this spring.

A $75,000 reward was offered in July after three Charlotte-area stores were robbed within an eight-day span in May.

Along with the three Harris Teeter robberies in Charlotte, there were reports of five others in Greensboro, two in High Point and one in Winston-Salem, a Greensboro Police Department spokesperson said on May 30. That spokesperson said police have connected all eight of those robberies, linking the same two men to those crimes.

It's unclear if Thursday's incident is related to the other previous robberies.

If anyone has any information, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
