CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police charged 10 people with driving while impaired during a Saturday evening traffic checkpoint in the 5100 block of Sharon Road

From 11 p.m. to 3 a.m., CMPD operated the checkpoint with the help of the Mint Hill Police Department.

Police have issued 57 charges during the crackdown, including four for driving while licensed revoked, 21 for no operator s license and one for an open container of alcohol.

The checking station was held in conjunction with the Governor s Highway Safety Program Booze it and Lose it Campaign.
