MOORESVILLE, N.C. It was a close call for a Mooresville 6-year-old Saturday afternoon when a tree crashed through his bedroom.

The incident happened on Kelly Avenue. The boy was playing a video game on his bed at the time. He was hit in the shoulder by a branch and falling debris. The branch crashed through his bedroom ceiling.

The tree fell as strong thunderstorms moved through the Carolinas bringing downpours and wind. The family says they think it was lightning that brought the tree down.

I didn't get scared, but I was a big boy & I cried, said Devonte Graves. All of us met in the hallway and we just hugged each other and started crying, he said.

Devonte was unfazed by the incident. He went back to playing his video games.
