ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) -- Police in Rock Hill are investigating the death of a 3-month-old boy who had been sleeping between his parents.

The Herald of Rock Hill reported that officers were called to a home on Hagins Street late Sunday morning after the parents said they noticed the boy was not breathing.

The boy was taken to Piedmont Medical Center where he was pronounced died.

Police say a 20-year-old woman and 19-year-old man told investigators they had picked up the child from the woman's sister early Sunday and went home to sleep.

A police report said the baby slept between the couple on a queen-sized bed. The police report says the baby s mother woke up around 11:30 a.m. and noticed something was wrong.

York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said there is no sign of foul play but the investigation is continuing.
