CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A suspicious package on the UNCC campus has been rendered safe.

A call came in around 11 a.m. for a suspicious package found behind Scott Hall.
School officials say the police department assessed the device, a pipe with caps, and swept three buildings. Investigators did not find any threat.

No one was hurt.

This is move-in weekend, ahead of the start of classes next week, and several families are on campus. Students in the immediate area were evacuated but are now allowed back in the building. They were allowed to stand in a parking deck nearby to get out of the rain during the wait
