GASTONIA, N.C. -- A total of 62 charges were filed during the 10-day 'Booze it & Lose it campaign in Gaston County.

As part of the effort, Gastonia Police, Gaston County Sheriff's Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol conducted a DWI checkpoint Saturday night on Red Bud Drive near Independence Way.

Throughout the campaign, two DWIcharges were filed, 1 person refused a DWItest, one person was arrested on an outstanding warrant and nine misdemeanor drug charges were filed. The remaining charges were made up of moving, inspection and registration violations, no operator's license or driving while license revoked, child restraining violations and one open container.
