On a clear September morning, nine years ago, hijacked planes crashed into the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon and a field in rural Pennsylvania. It was the deadliest attack ever on U.S. soil, claiming the lives of 2,996 people, including 19 terrorists.

Since that time, plenty has changed in the U.S.

We ve fought two wars and elected a new president. Many of the children who were infants at the time of the attacks are now starting the third grade. Fortunes have been made and squandered.

Life has gone on.

But for those who witnessed them, the events of Sept. 11, 2001, will never fade. And every year, when that day comes, we will remember how lives were lost, heroes were born and the world changed forever in a matter of minutes.

We will never forget.
