CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Strong storms and heavy rain is expected to move through the Charlotte region Tuesday morning.

The heavy rain could bring the chance of flash flooding and strong winds, according to the First Warn Storm Team. The storms are expected to move through late in the morning and hang around for most of the day.

The chance of rain is 60 percent with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and a half-inch possible, according to the First Warn Storm Team.

Temperatures Tuesday are only expected to reach the high 80s.

Highs on Wednesday will be in the mid-to-upper 80s. The Charlotte region will continue to see scattered showers and storms through out the week.
