YORK COUNTY, S.C. Officials arrested a father after his toddler was found wondering the roadway with a knife.

The incident happened Thursday afternoon. According to reports, a woman called police after finding a 2-year-old boy standing in the roadway and holding a knife.

A silver knife was found on the front deck of the home when authorities arrived. According to the report, deputies also found powder and broken eggs strewn about the home.

Reportedly deputies also spotted a half empty bottle of vodka. The report went on to state Cooke was unsteady on his feet.

The toddler was placed into foster care. Officials arrested Gerald Cooke Jr. 54, and charged him with one count of child abuse. Saturday he remained in custody under a $5,000 bond.
