HICKORY CREEK, Texas -- A Texas mansion modeled after a French landmark has sold but neither the purchase price nor the buyer s name is being revealed by the auction company.

New York City-based Concierge Auctions said Monday that the 48,000-square-foot mansion called Champ d Or sold Friday.

The mansion, modeled after Vaux-le-Vicomte outside of Paris, is located in the small town of Hickory Creek, about 40 miles north of Dallas. The mansion cost $46 million to build and includes a grand ballroom, a movie theater and a tea room modeled after New York s Tavern on the Green.

Alan Goldfield, the retired founder of cell phone wholesaler CellStar, and his wife, Shirley, built the house. He says they re happy to have found a family who will love Champ d Or as much as we have.
