CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are asking for the public's help as they try to find a hit-and-run driver who hurt a motorcyclist last Sunday.

Police said the 37-year-old rider was seriously injured and rushed to Carolinas Medical Center after he swerved to avoid hitting a green four-door Mercedes-Benz sedan on South Tryon Road near Sandy Porter Road.

Police believe the car should have damage to it's left rear corner.

Anyone with information about the wreck or the whereabouts of the suspect s vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
