LENOIR, N.C. - Investigators with the Lenoir Fire Department are trying to determine what caused two fires early Sunday morning.

Captain Bart Severt with the Lenoir Fire Department told NewsChannel 36, one fire started at the site of the old Broyhill Furniture building on Willow Street. Within minutes they were battling a house fire on Stage Street.

Officials say both fires were fully involved by the time they arrived.

The blazes began around 1:30 a.m. but by 12:30 p.m. investigators were still on the scene trying to determine what happened.

Captain Severt said they had to call in all of their off duty personnel to battle the flames, and they asked three volunteer fire departments to standby just in case there was another fire response.

No word yet if the fires are connected. Severt says no one was injured.
