CHARLOTTE, N.C. Charlotte police are searching for a pair of men who robbed an east Charlotte 7-Eleven store early Monday morning, briefly stealing the store employee s car during the incident.

Two black men entered the convenience store around 3:45 a.m. at 2840 Eastway Drive just north of Central Avenue, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department report.

The thieves grabbed the employee and put him in a headlock before moving him behind the counter and into an office, police said.

During the incident, the suspects took money and merchandise from the business without consent, the report states.

It's unclear how much money was taken, and the thieves got away with cigarettes as well.

The two men then stole the employee s 2000 Hyundai Sonata before leaving the scene.

The employee, a 20-year-old man, was not hurt. His car was found in a nearby apartment complex.

One suspect is approximately 5'10'' and was last seen wearing a black pullover hoodie with jeans. He has sideburns, short curly hair and a goatee. The second man is approximately 6'0'' and was last seen wearing a blue and white zip up hoodie and jeans, police said.
