HICKORY, N.C. -- A fire that injured two firefighters on Monday night was ruled an arson, according to the Hickory Fire Department.

Officials said a fire broke out at a residence off of South Center Street around 11: 15 p.m.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze and were treated at the scene.

Investigators ruled that the fire was intentionally set and are searching whoever was involved in starting it.
