The department began this investigation in spring of 2012.

The mayor and chief of police addressed the largest drug bust in the town s history after officers made the sweep.

You can continue to do this, Police Chief Melvin Proctor said, And we ll put you in jail, and we ll put you in jail, and we ll put you in jail until you come around or you re there permanently.

The police department said this is not the end of their battle against drug dealers, and city officials offered their backing.

We are very supportive, myself and the city council, of the police and what they continue to do, Mayor Rick Murphrey said.

Some of the suspects who spoke after their arrests say investigators arrested the wrong people.

I don t know why I m being arrested, Johnny Hogue Jr. said. When asked if it s a surprise, he said, Yes, it is.

Nathaniel Curry said he thinks he s being targeted and adds, I ve never sold any drugs.
