CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Bobcats have a free gift for fans who come to Saturday night's playoff game at Time Warner Cable Arena -- a free Bobcats Playoffs T-shirt.

Nearly 20,000 T-shirts hung over seats -- every single seat -- in the arena before fans arrived for the game Saturday.

The Bobcats are making their second-ever playoff appearance this year, and the first playoff appearance at home in their series against the Miami Heat.

The last time the Bobcats played the Heat in TWC Arena, in January, the attendance set a record for most people to ever watch an NBA game at the arena.

This playoff series marks the last series of games for the team under the Bobcats name. Next year they'll take back their old name and mascot, The Hornets.

Before Saturday's game, hundreds of fans got together on the patio outside the arena to listen to music, and get free balloons, rally towels and other Bobcats-inspired gifts.

Bobcats fan Aubri Johnson is excited about his team playing better than they have in years. Becoming Hornets makes it just that much better.

It's like icing on the cake, said Johnson. Like the crest before the wave -- we are one player away from making it happen.

Big Al, Kemba, and the rest of the Bobcats play at 7 p.m.
