CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. -- Three people were injured and one person has died following a single vehicle crash in Chesterfield County.

South Carolina Highway Patrol says a 1997 Ford Explorer driven by 46-year-old Jimmy Presley ran off the roadway around 1 a.,. Sunday on W.L. Melton Road, about two-and-a-half miles east of Ruby.

When the vehicle left the roadway, it went into a ditch and rolled several times.

The Explorer had a total of four occupants, three of whom survived the crash and were taken to Carolina Pines.

A passenger in the backseat, who authorities say was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected in the crash and pronounced deceased on the scene. The victim's identity has not yet been released.

South Carolina Highway Patrol says their investigation continues and that charges are pending.
