GASTON COUNTY, N.C. -- A 911 dispatcher helped save a patient s life in Gaston County.

A woman called 911 around 3 a.m. Thursday after a friend lost consciousness and was not breathing.

The woman is distraught on the call and at one point lost connection with the dispatcher, Krystal Peninger.

Peninger quickly dispatched paramedics and called back the woman. She instructed her on how to perform CPR and kept the woman calm until emergency crews arrived.

Police Sergeant F.C. Reynolds took over CPR once he made it to the scene.

The patients regained consciousness and breathing and was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
