Charlotte, N.C. -- A woman was hit and killed early Sunday morning while trying to cross the street in Uptown and now the driver is facing a list of charges.

Police tell NewsChannel 36, 60-year-old Stephen John Watts hit 31-year-old Autumn Lynn Soyka on East Seventh Street around 1:00am Sunday morning.

Soyka was pronounced dead on the scene. A field sobriety test determined that Watts had been drinking.

He faces Involuntary Manslaughter, Driving While Intoxicated and a License Restriction Violation.
