ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- The tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School is causing a North Carolina city to reconsider its gun policies.

Asheville Councilman Cecil Bothwell says he wants to ban gun shows at publicly owned buildings.

The city already has an ordinance banning firearms on city-owned property. Still, gun shows are often held at a city-owned agriculture center and US Cellular Center in the downtown area.
