GASTONIA, N.C. -- Two people escaped with non-life-threatening injuries when their car struck a tree in Gaston County.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday on Chapel Grove School Road near Hickory Creek Drive.

Crowder s Mountain firefighters say the car overturned after hitting the tree, trapping both people inside.

Once removed, they were taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
