ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) -- A judge says members of a Rock Hill church should vote on whether to fire the pastor.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports the dispute has been going on for months at the nearly 90-year-old Flint Hill Baptist Church.

York County master-in-equity Jack Kimball has ordered that the church hold a meeting to resolve the status of the Rev. Cedric Maddox and three deacons who have been suspended after they led the effort to have Maddox fired.

The locks were changed and No Trespassing signs were posted at the church to try to keep Maddox out. He and some church elders then sued, claiming the dismissal votes in February and April were improper.

Kimball has ordered a meeting for a vote after proper notice is provided to all members.
