AUSTIN-- The 21-year-old man accused of driving through a busy SXSW crowd, killing two people, has a criminal past.

Rashad Charjuan Owens was driving a stolen car from Killeen, Fort Hood officials told KVUE, when the incident took place early Thursday morning.

According to jail records out of Fairbanks, Alaska, Owens was jailed on several charges ranging from DUI and criminal trespassing back in 2011.

The photo above was obtained by KVUE's exclusive partners at the AustinAmerican-Statesman. The photo is a mug shot of Owens when he was arrested in Killeen inSeptember 2010 on charges of criminal trespassing.

Once police formally book Owens into the Travis County Jail, they expect to charge him with capital murder and aggravated assault with a vehicle.

NBC News reports Owens' Facebook page lists his hometown as Orangeburg, S.C.
