CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A southwest Charlotte business was damaged by fire overnight.

The fire broke out at the Alsco textile plant on Dwight Evans Road at about midnight.

Investigators say the cause remains under investigation, but it appears some materials caught fire. The sprinkler system inside the plant kept the flames from getting out of control.

Alsco was closed at the time and no one was inside.
