CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Old Concord Road was blocked between North Tryon Street and Rocky River Road Monday nightbecause of a bad head-on collision.

Firefighters said 10 people were treated at the scene, including seven who were ultimately taken to Carolinas Medical Center.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Captain William Boger said investigators didn't know what caused the wreck, which involved two vehicles. The road will be closed for an unspecified amount of time as police investigate.

First-responders said people traveling on the road should expect significant traffic delays or try to find alternate routes.
