GASTONIA, N.C. -- Authorities in Gastonia and Hickory are trying to determine if a man robbed two drug stores within 24 hours of each other this past weekend.

The robberies occurred at a CVS in Hickory and a Walgreens in Gastonia on Saturday. Hickory police said the man robbed the CVS off of U.S. 321 around 4 p.m.

The suspect walked into the CVS, showed a gun and handed a note to a worker with a list of drugs on them, according to Hickory police.

In the Walgreens robbery, the suspect entered the store off of East Franklin Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. and went to the pharmacy area where he jumped the counter brandishing a gun, according to Gastonia police.

No one was injured during both incidents, but the suspect stole various controlled substances and fled both scenes, police said.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 5-feet-6 and weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a grey pullover jacket, khaki pants and white and grey baseball cap.
