HICKORY, N.C. -- A former NBA player and NC State basketball player was arrested in Hickory last week.
Hickory Police say Christopher Scott Washburn was arrested last Friday and charged with felony obtaining property by false pretenses. The charge stems from an incident on Sunday, May 25, at the Q Express gas station in the 500 block of 4th Street SW.
Police say 48-year-old Washburn pumped 14.75 gallons of gas and left the store without paying. He was arrested Friday without incident.
Washburn was drafted by the Golden State Warriors with the third pick overall in the 1986 NBA Draft.
Washburn's bond was set at $5000.
