TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. -- The Alexander County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Taylorsville man who's accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old.
James Fenton Leatham, 33, is charged with six counts of first-degree statutory sex offense with a child and six counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Leatham's arrest stems from the conclusion of an investigation by the Sheriff's Office after the reported assault of a 9-year-old.
Leatham was booked in to the Alexander County Jail under a $500,000 bond. He made his first court appearance via video on Wednesday.
