PORTLAND -- The 15-year old gunman at Reynolds High School planned to kill classmates, who he called sinners, according to a journal police found in the suspect's home.

Police found the journal while searching Jared Padgett's father's home. Investigators also searched the freshman's locker at school.

According to a law enforcement source, Padgett wrote about a plan to go to the school and kill students or sinners.

There were no specifics in Padgett's personal notes about how or when the shooting might occur. No specific students or teachers were named as potential targets, according to the source.

On Tuesday morning, Padgett arrived at Reynolds High School carrying a guitar case and duffel bag. He was armed with an AR-15 type rifle, a semi-automatic handgun, ammunition and a large knife, police said.

Padgett allegedly killed 14-year old Emilio Hoffman in the boys' locker room. He also allegedly shot and injured a teacher.

Padgett was found dead in a restroom of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police say Padgett got the weapons from his family's home, where they'd been locked up.
