CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Authorities briefly detained an unidentified woman they spotted videotaping buildings near Bank of America Stadium Tuesday morning.

At about 10 a.m., police spotted the woman at a Mint Street parking deck filming buildings, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department Lt. S.A. Sharp.

When police approached, she walked away and spoke to a man at the parking deck.

By 10:30 a.m., authorities had handcuffed the suspect a tall blonde woman who appeared to be in her 30s or 40s and were questioning her. They released her about 45 minutes later.

Secret Service is not going to arrest them, and we re not going against that, Sharp said.

There was something to it, Sharp said. They were doing stuff. But it s (the Secret Service s) investigation. Secret Service is in charge.

The name of the woman was unavailable. She carried no identification and wouldn t say who she was, Sharp said. It s unclear whether authorities now know who she is.

Sharp declined to talk further about why the man and woman were videotaping.

They have been banned from the parking deck, Sharp said.

Shortly after the woman s detention, about 20 police officers gathered at the parking deck as one plain-clothed man in black pants and a royal blue shirt interviewed her.

Her actions drew the attention of the officers, said Max Milien, a spokesman for the Secret Service. She was doing something they deemed suspicious. They talked to her and she was released. There were no charges.

The Secret Service was made aware of the situation. But there is no ongoing investigation.
