SOUTHPORT, N.C. (AP) -- Tourism officials hope to cash in on the release of a movie made in Southport, much as they did when The Hunger Games was released earlier this year.

The StarNews of Wilmington reported ( Wednesday that expectations are high for the February release of Safe Haven, based on a novel by North Carolina writer Nicholas Sparks.

The movie stars Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. The book was based in Southport, which also is where the movie was filmed.

Local tourism leaders say the coastal Brunswick County town will be hard to miss. Southport tourism director Cindy Brochure describes it as part of the cast.

Brochure says it's possible the producers will hold a pre-screening in Southport. The city will hold its own celebration to mark the Feb. 14 release.
