CHARLOTTE -- All charges have been dropped against a former Charlotte-Mecklenburg school teacher.

Monte Sue Diebolt had been charged with taking indecent liberties with a male student when she was a teacher at Marie G. Davis school.

That student came forward last December -- 30 years after the alleged crime.

The District Attorney's office said Wednesday that waiting 30 years to report the incident was lengthy and unexplained by the victim and there was not enough evidence to corroborate his story.

The D.A.'s office also said that while there was a recorded conversation between the student and Diebolt, she never confessed to the allegations.
