CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A 6-year-old girl had to be rushed to the hospital Monday night after a slab of concrete fell on her leg in a northeast Charlotte neighborhood.

Neighbors on Bradstreet Commons Way, just off of Robinson Church Road said an eyesore that they have worried about for weeks was to blame. They told NBC Charlotte that the developer dumped the slabs, along with other construction materials, and has not cleaned it up.

It's very frustrating. Very frustrating. When they were out here dumping it we was out here telling them that they shouldn't dump it out here because it was a hazard because somebody might get hurt. And here we are, said neighbor Chris Henderson.

Neighbors claimed the developer told them that concrete is filling in a sediment basin. The city told them it's a code violation.

Even so, nothing's been done about it.

Paramedics said the girl suffered a broken leg.
