ALBEMARLE, N.C. -- Police evacuated an Albemarle hotel to investigate a possible meth lab.

They responded to the Lions Inn on U.S. 52 North around 4 a.m. Friday.

Officers arrived to find a blown out window in one of the rooms, and traces of a fire.

Investigators believe an explosion occurred with someone manufactured methamphetamine.

Crews evacuated the building for safety reasons and began cleaning up the mess. The North Carolina SBI assisted.

Following an investigation, police arrested Jamie Robinson Hill of Gastonia. He s charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony manufacturing methamphetamine and felony maintain of a dwelling.

He was booked into jail on a $25,000 secured bond.
