CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- There was a big celebration in uptown Friday for Fourth of July. This year not only were the fireworks moved to a new location, but the timing of the fireworks show had a lot of people wondering when the show would start.
Skyshow moved from the old Knights stadium in Fort Mill to the new BB&T Ballpark in uptown this year. People who had tickets to the Charlotte Knights game Friday night also had premium seats for the fireworks show that followed the game.
Others staked out spots on the grass at Romere Bearden Park hours before sunset.
Some people did complain about high prices for rides and street vendors for the festival along Mint Street, but others praised the central location.
