CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A New Jersey based information technology and financial services firm announced it will open a center in uptown Charlotte, creating 250 jobs.
Spectra Group will move into 12,000 square feet of office space in the BB&T Center. The average salaries will be just shy of $85,000.
Charlotte beat out Austin, Texas and Tampa for the jobs.
"I think this announcement shows we're competing very effectively, and I think there are more announcements to come," said Gov. Pat McCrory, who appeared at Tuesday's announcement.
Spectra Group President Aditya Narra cited the local banks, talented workforce, and good school systems as reasons the company chose Charlotte.
Over twelve years, the company will also receive $2.9 million is state grant money upon the creation of 250 jobs. Work on the new office will begin in the coming months, with hopes of a fully functional operation by 2018.
