INDIAN TRAIL, N.C. -- Harris Teeter announced Monday they're expanding the distribution center in Indian Trail, bringing dozens of new jobs to the area.
Construction on the 50,000-square-foot perishable facility in Indian Trail will begin in October.
The move means a $5.5 million investment in Union County, and is expected to bring 41 new jobs.
Union County passed an incentive last September for a grant not to exceed $66,000 over a five-year period.
"I am extremely pleased that Harris Teeter has continued to support its location here in Union County," said Chris Platé, executive director of Monroe-Union County Economic Development. "This expansion is a prime example of the strength of our existing industry team and is why our program is so deeply attentive of the companies that call Union County home."
