CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A park, a school, a county office, even unveiling a creek flowing underneath it are a few options under consideration for the old Eastland Mall site.

Thursday, city officials say they would like a $50,000 study to come up with the best options for both public and private investment.

"This is really getting, driving down to much more detail than we've done before on the site," said Pat Mumford with the City of Charlotte.

Council member John Autry, who represents the area, says there's not a big appetite for yet another study of what to do with the land.

The city is also looking into what type of events can be held on the 80 acres until it is developed.
