MINT HILL, N.C. -- Police have made an arrest in a late Monday night shooting in Mint Hill.

Mint Hill police charged Sam Babb Clonts with assault with a deadly weapon and intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Clonts shot Aaron Brandon Allen after the two got into an argument at a residence in the 10300 block of Brush Creek Lane, according to police.

Clonts and Allen knew each other before shooting happened, police said.

Clonts was arrested and is being held at Mecklenburg County Jail. Allen is still hospitalized with no update on his condition at this time.
