CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panther Greg Hardy was back in court Monday afternoon; the defensive star is appealing his convictions on domestic violence charges.

The Panthers defensive end was convicted by a judge last month on two counts of domestic violence.

A judge found the 25-year-old guilty of assaulting his former girlfriend and threatening to kill her, but Hardy is appealing the judge's decision, asking for the case to go before a jury.

Meanwhile, Hardy's 60-day jail sentence has been suspended.

Hardy will not face disciplinary action from the NFL or his team until his case is resolved.

A jury trial is set for has been scheduled for November 17, in the middle of the Panthers' upcoming season. Hardy's attorney believes the trial will be pushed back to 2015
