CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a deadly shooting in west Charlotte Monday evening.

Police said that 35-year-old Felicia Clinkscale's boyfriend drove her to an area hospital after she was shot inside a car on Columbus Circle around 7 p.m. Monday.

Clinkscale later died from her injuries at Presbyterian Hospital.

Detectives have determined that an argument between the victim and known suspect, now identified as Eric Bernard Sloan, Jr., 18, led to the shooting which occurred inside a vehicle on Columbus Circle.

Sloan was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with murder.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective.
