CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police charged three men with breaking and enter after they smashed a car window and stole money from the car.

Police said officers responded to a larceny from vehicle call for service at the Circle K gas station located at 9501 University City Boulevard. The victim advised that his vehicle was parked at the gas station when the suspects smashed the window and entered the vehicle.The victim advised that the suspects took money from inside his vehicle.

A short time later, officers who were circulating the area located the suspect vehicle on E. Mallard Creek Church Road and conducted a traffic stop. The witness was able to identify the suspect vehicle as being involved in the larceny. The occupants of the vehicle were transported to the University City Division team office where they were interviewed by detectives.

Officers were able to recover and return the victim's stolen property. Officers also located small baggies marijuana inside the suspect vehicle, according to police.

Detectives charged all three suspects with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, felony conspiracy and misdemeanor larceny. The suspects were then transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
