HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- A robbery at a local pizza parlor was an inside job, according to Huntersville Police.
They arrested James Haney, Jr., a shift leader at Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint.
Police say he was working at the time of the robbery on Aug. 6, and planned the whole thing along with Tommy Vanh Bountham and Cameron Nash.
Chief Cleveland Spruill tells NBC Charlotte, there were major inconsistencies to Haney's telling of the robbery to responding officers.
He told police the robber forced four employees into the restaurant's cooler, and then assaulted him with his handgun.
"Early they noticed the injuries of the store manager were not consistent to what would be expected if the person was struck in that manner," said Chief Spruill.
Nash and Bountham fled in a vehicle, and a police pursuit began.
The suspect vehicles eventually came to a crashing end at a curve in Cornelius.
Police say the two abandoned the vehicles and have not been seen since. Detectives are looking for the suspects, who should be considered armed and dangerous.
Warrants have been issued for both of them on five counts of armed robbery charges, four counts of second degree kidnapping charges and more.
Anyone who knows where they are is asked to call the Huntersville Police Department at 704-464-5400 or 911.
Haney is charged with the same crimes.
