LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- A tip led to police to a suspected car battery thief in Lincoln County.
Helen Dibari, 26, is allegedly behind a rash of burglaries that occurred between July 25 and Aug. 3.
In that time period, the sheriff's office noticed a suspicious vehicle near the scene of one of the crimes but was unable to locate the driver.
A tip soon after alerted police that the suspect planned on committing further crimes. Deputies set up surveillance and caught Dibari during the early morning hours on Sunday.
Police say she confessed to the thefts. Dibari is charged with four counts each of larceny and possession of stolen goods, and well as a misdemeanor count of larceny. She was released on a $12,500 bond.
A second suspect she implicated and booked into jail in Burke County on a separate failure to appear charge. She will be charged for the Lincoln County crimes.
