ROCK HILL, S.C. -- A store clerk is recovering after being shot during a robbery in Rock Hill Tuesday night.
Surveillance video captured the robbery, but not the actual shooting that happened inside Park's Grocery on East Main Street.
The video shows two men handing the masked gunman a handful of cash. Police say the suspect demanded more.
Police say the video shows a second man being shot and falling to the floor.
A steady flow of customers were greeted by a "closed" sign at the door.
"I think it is sad because he is a really nice guy. He tries to help out a lot of the people who live in this neighborhood. He may give some of them credit, cashes checks that nobody else will, he just helps them out," said Nicole Conner.
Police say the suspect took money and shot the clerk, as another man outside acted as the lookout.
Rock Hill police say the same victim was in the hospital two months prior, because an unruly customer had struck him with a baseball bat from behind.
Neighbor Bobby Jones was brought to tears upon hearing of the latest spat of violence.
"Because that boy was a good boy, and he didn't need to get shot."
The clerk's injuries were non-life threatening.
So far, no arrests have been made.
