LANCASTER, S.C. -- The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office is investigating two shootings in two days that they believe are connected.
Deputies arrested Markivious D. Samuel, 22, Wednesday. He is charged with three counts of attempted murder armed robbery and failure to stop for a siren.
On Sunday around 11:30 p.m., deputies were notified of a 20-year-old man who went to the emergency room with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
Investigators say the shooting took place in the 900 block of 12th Street in Lancaster. Witness report a suspect opened fire on a group of people at that location.
The next night around 10:15, the Sheriff's Office says two black men began shooting-up a car in the parking lot of the Woodcreek Apartments on Meeting Street. The driver of the vehicle hit several parked cars while attempting to flee the gunfire, officials say, and none of the vehicle occupants were struck by errant gunfire.
Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile said, "The individuals in these incidents obviously have no regard of the life and safety of other people. We are working diligently to get those responsible off of the street. We would also like to encourage anyone with information about these incidents to come forward."
Police say Samuel was also wanted by state authorities.
Detectives are still investigating both incidents.
