STATESVILLE, N.C. -- The latest arrested stemming from a sex offender check in multiple counties has been made in Iredell.

Kenneth Dewey Nicholson, 60, was arrested at his home on Trinity Road in Statesville Tuesday.

While conducting a compliance check, police say several firearms were found in Nicholson's house along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

All of this was seized as evidence. He is now charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

His first conviction was for indecent liberties with a child in 1995. His second was in 2009 for sexual battery.

This check was part of Operation Double Deuce. Dozens of others have also been arrested.
