GASTONIA, N.C. - A Gastonia man was arrested after police found him in possession of a car of a woman found dead inside her home Thursday night.

Family members discovered the body of Adaline Phillips, 47, in her Broad Street home Thursday evening, according to police.

Around 8 p.m., Gastonia Police responded to the scene, at which time they learned the victim's vehicle had also been stolen.

Police arrested Dwayne Patrick Robinson, 30, Friday morning for larceny of a motor vehicle after police say they found Phillips' vehicle at his home on Stage Coach Road. Authorities say Robinson was Phillips' boyfriend.

Police have since charged Robinson with second-degree murder in Phillips' death.

Phillips' cause of death has not yet been determined. An autopsy is underway, and the case remains under investigation.
